BUTTER PECAN TURTLE COOKIES 
CRUST:

2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar

CARAMEL LAYER:

2/3 c. butter
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 c. whole pecan halves (do not chop)
1 c. milk chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine crust ingredients. Mix well at medium speed 2 to 3 minutes. Pat firmly in 13"x9" pan. Sprinkle pecans evenly over unbaked crust. In saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar for caramel layer. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until boiling. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour evenly over pecans and bake 18 to 22 minutes. Remove from oven. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top and allow to melt slightly. Slightly swirl chips as they melt. Do not spread chips. Cool completely. Makes 3 to 4 dozen bars.
