NANAIMO BARS 
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
5 tbsp. baking cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 c. crushed graham crackers
1 c. coconut
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Place softened butter in bowl. Add sugar, cocoa, vanilla and egg. Set bowl over pan of boiling water. Stir until butter has melted and mixture resembles custard. Combine crackers, coconut, and nuts; blend well. Add to custard mixture. Pack evenly into 9-inch square pan; spread with icing.

ICING:

1/4 c. butter
3 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp. vanilla custard powder (in pudding section)
2 c. powdered sugar

Cream butter; add milk mixed with custard powder. Blend in powdered sugar; spread over bottom and let stand 15 minutes. Melt 1 tablespoon butter and 4 squares semi-sweet chocolate over hot water. When melted, spread over icing. Cool, then cut into bars. Yummy!
