ALICE'S CREAM WAFFLES 
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 3/4 c. milk
2 eggs
1/2 c. melted butter

Sift flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder together. Beat eggs and milk and add to dry ingredients with butter. Pour into hot waffle iron. Cook, eat, and enjoy!

My mother, Sally Reaid Mallory, used a waffle iron with a handle that was placed on the wood stove with one of the lids off. It had to be turned to bake each side, a slow process for us children sitting around the table waiting to be the next to get a waffle.
