HOT JAM TURKEY SANDWICH
Call in the crowd for a new taste treat for the holidays - the sweetness of the jam will counteract the harshness and hotness of the peppers and give you a craving for another sandwich just like this one!

leftover turkey, sliced for how many sandwiches you need
real cheese, enough to cover turkey for each person
fresh (or pickled) jalapenos, sliced with seeds and membrane removed (you can roast fresh peppers and skin them if you desire)
jelly or jam (your favorite)
two rye bread slices per person

On microwave safe plates arrange turkey pieces for each person, cover with enough real cheese slices or shredded cheese, put in microwave long enough to melt cheese on the turkey about 1 minute for each group, so if you load a plate with 4 groups microwave for about 4 minutes checking often as you do not want the cheese to burn.

While meat and cheese is heating, prepare your slices of bread. On one half apply your jalapeno slices (this side is the one you will place the turkey and cheese melts on) then on the other slice of bread spread on your favorite jam or jelly.

Put the slices of bread with the jalapenos on a plate, now cover the peppers with the turkey and melted cheese, now lay down your jam spreaded slices over the whole thing.

NOTES on creation of this recipe:

I am a fool for trying new taste combinations and since I love peppers of all sorts and totally enjoy the leftover turkey that everyone complains about, I am always in line to get anyone elses leftovers at family functions, of course, now they will know why and I might not get any leftovers at next years Thanksgiving day dinners!!

I wanted to start a diner at one time using only my own recipes for sandwiches I have concocted over the years and this was my favorite - a sort of derivative of another rye bread sandwich my favorite in the world the reuben - but I didn't invent it, so this will have to do. I started this tradition in the 1980s while raising my children and they liked the turkey sandwiches without the peppers and jam, but they always tried my creations, I am addicted to them and look forward to November for that reason.

My husband likes his with mustard!

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
