GERMAN SPAGHETTI | |
36 oz. spaghetti sauce, plain 3/4 lb. spaghetti noodles 1 med. onion, minced 1 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated 1 can tomato paste Butter 1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes 3/4 c. sugar to taste Pepper to taste Parsley Oregano Salt to taste In a little bit of butter, fry the minced onion lightly. Par-boil the noodles, and strain. In a saucepan, combine the spaghetti sauce, whole tomatoes, tomato paste and cooked onions. Heat on low burner. Add a little salt, pepper, parsley and oregano, not enough to make it like Italian sauce. Once warm, add sugar to taste. If not on the sweet side, add more sugar, a little at a time. Combine in boiling pan the cooked noodles, heated sweet sauce and grated cheese, stir or fold. Put in a greased, deep casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees, covered, for almost 1 hour. |
