HEARTLAND SOUP 
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can beef broth
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen fordhook lima beans
1 c. chopped carrots
1/2 c. sliced celery
1/2 c. frozen chopped onions
1 tsp. butter
4 smoky link sausages or frankfurters
1/8 tsp. pepper

Heat broth to boiling. Add lima beans and bring back to boiling. Cover, turn heat low and cook 5 minutes or as package directs. Meanwhile, saute carrots, celery and onions in butter until onion is tender and transparent. Cut sausages diagonally into sixths and add to vegetables. Turn 1/2 the lima bean mixture at a time into blender and blend until smooth. Combine with vegetables, sausages and pepper. Heat to boiling, reduce heat and cook about 10 minutes until carrots are tender. Makes 1 quart.
