BEEF STROGANOFF | |
1/4 c. chopped onion 1/2 c. butter 1/2 lb. sliced mushrooms 1 lb. beef, cut into strips 2 tbsp. flour Dash pepper 1/8 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 can tomato sauce 1 can beef consomme 1/2 c. sour cream 3 tbsp. sherry Saute onion in butter; add mushrooms, cook for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove mushrooms and save. Add beef to fat in pan and brown. Add flour; mix. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder and mustard. Pour in tomato sauce and beef consomme; add mushrooms. Cook until meat is tender (1 hour). When ready to serve, add sour cream and sherry (do not cook). Serve over wide noodles. Serves 4. |
