1 c. white sugar 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. Crisco 3 eggs 4 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla FILLING: 1 c. white sugar 1 c. water 1 lb. box chopped dates Boil filling ingredients together until tender, then cool. Mix the first seven ingredients together well in the order given. Roll out dough, spread with cooled date filling, roll like a jelly roll. Wrap in wax paper and set in a cold place overnight. When ready to bake, cut off slices and bake in moderate oven for 10 minutes. |
