VINEGAR PIE 
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. Allspice
1/8 tsp. salt, 1 egg
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 c. water
1/2 recipe Plain Pastry

Cream butter and sugar. add dry ingredients, egg, vinegar and water. Cook in top of double boiler until thickened, stirring constantly. Line pie pan with pastry. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) for 3 minutes, then pour in filling and continue baking until crust is brown. Make 1 (8 inch) pie.
