1 c. wheat or barley
3/4 c. poppy seed
1 to 2 c. honey
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Wheat; wash well and put in a pan in oven at 250 degrees for 54 minutes, stirring occasionally. When dry, put in cloth bag and roll with rolling pin to loosen the skin of the wheat. Wash and put in saucepan. Cover with cold water and cook until tender. Drain; add ground poppy seed and nuts. Stir and add honey to taste. With barley, wash thoroughly. Cook 35 to 45 minutes in a large volume of rapidly boiling water. Cool, drain, and follow the same as your wheat Kutya.
