DILL & GARLIC PICKLES 
Slice cucumbers and put in ice water for 1 hour before starting.

In saucepan boil 3 quarts water and 1 quart vinegar. In bottom of each jar put: 1 clove garlic 1/8 tsp. alum

Put cucumbers in jars. Place on top of cucumbers: 1 clove garlic

Pour vinegar solution over cucumbers and seal jars.
