SPRING SALAD | |
1 pt. Hellmann's mayonnaise 1 c. water 1/2 c. vinegar 1 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. turmeric 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. celery salt 1 lb. spring or Rotini macaroni 1 c. chopped celery 1 med. chopped onion Mix well mayonnaise, water, vinegar, sugar, turmeric, salt, pepper and celery salt with wire whip. Set aside in refrigerator. Cook macaroni for 12 minutes; drain. Add celery and onion. Add previously made dressing and mix well. Allow to stand in refrigerator overnight. Salad will be juicy at first but thickens as it sets. (Holds up well at picnics and serves a crowd.) |
