FRENCH LACE COOKIES 
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. finely chopped pecans

Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in egg and vanilla. Sift together flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture with nuts. Chill 1 hour. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on baking sheets covered with greased aluminum foil. Bake in a hot 400 degree oven for 4 to 5 minutes. Cool slightly; carefully remove from foil. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
