FRIED CORN 
8 ears of corn

Shuck corn - remove silks - wash. Use sharp knife to get kernels off cob. After kernels are cut, scrape cob downward to get all the pulp. Add 2 tablespoons flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, salt and pepper to taste.

Mix well. Add enough water to barely cover mixture. In a large skillet melt 1/2 stick butter and 2 tablespoons shortening. Pour in corn. Cook slowly about 20 minutes or until it thickens and corn is done, stirring often.
