2 sticks butter 3 c. sugar 1 c. milk 1 tbsp. vinegar 1/4 tsp. baking soda 3 c. cake flour 2 tsp. vanilla 4 tsp. lemon extract 5 eggs Beat eggs enough to mix and add flavorings. Set aside. Add soda and vinegar to milk. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar. Add flour alternately with milk mixture. Add egg mixture and beat well. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes. ICING: After cake has cooled, mix lemon juice and confectioners' sugar to spreading consistency, and drizzle over top of cake. |
