SWEDISH MEAT CABBAGE ROLLS | |
(Great for crock pot.) 12 lg. cabbage leaves 1 beaten egg 1/4 c. milk 1/4 c. chopped onion 1 tsp. salt 1 lb. ground meat 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/2 tsp. pepper 1 c. cooked white or brown rice Immerse cabbage leaves in boiling water for 3 minutes or until limp and set aside. Combine egg, milk, onion, salt, pepper, meat and rice and place 1/4 cup mixture on each cabbage leaf. Roll sides and tuck ends. Place seam side down in baking dish or crock pot. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over rolls. Cook in crock pot on low for 7 to 9 hours. Cook in conventional oven (covered) for 1 hour 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Healthy, lo cal, lo cholesterol, delicious meal. |
