GRANDMA TILLIE'S BLACKBERRY PIE | |
1 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. butter 4 to 5 tbsp. water Sift flour and salt together. Mix in butter. Add water and group into two balls. Roll out half of the dough and line pie shell. Prick bottom of pie pan and add a little flour to the bottom so that berries will not absorb the crust. Line crust with 3 cups berries. Mix 3/4 to 1 cup sugar with 2 tablespoons cornstarch or 4 tablespoons flour. Place over top of berries. Dot with about 1 tablespoon butter. Roll out top crust. Seal on top. You can freeze the pie at this point or bake at 400 for 30 to 40 minutes or until top is golden brown. |
