DEER MEATBALLS 
2 lb. ground deer or venison
5 eggs
2 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp. bread crumbs
1 tsp. sweet basil
2 cloves garlic, chopped fine
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
Shortening

Combine all ingredients except shortening; mix well. Shape mixture into balls about 2 inches in diameter. Fry in hot shortening until brown on all sides and well done. Serve with catsup or gravy.

We're always trying to find good recipes for deer meat since we end up with a lot of it during hunting season. Our family really loved these meatballs! They were great in spaghetti.
