SWEET POTATO CASSEROLE 
4 lg. sweet potatoes or 2 cans drained sweet potatoes
1/2 c. milk
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt

Bake potatoes and then cream them (or cream drained canned potatoes). Add the rest of the ingredients. Pile around the edge of buttered casserole dish. Leave hole in the middle for sauce.

SAUCE:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. cream or milk
Nuts, chopped

Melt butter and sugar in skillet until caramel color. Remove from heat and add milk. Return to low heat for 2 minutes. Add vanilla. Pour in center of potatoes. Sprinkle with nuts. Put in oven (broil temperature) until it is a little on the brown side.
