REFRIGERATOR ROLLS 
5 c. flour (either whole wheat or white or half & half)
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. sweet milk
1 c. warm water
1 egg, well beaten

Put sugar and salt in bowl. Dissolve yeast cake or powdered yeast in warm water. Scald milk with shortening. Pour hot milk and shortening over sugar and salt and stir. Let cool. Put beaten egg in that. Be sure this mixture is lukewarm. Then stir in yeast. Then beat in 5 cups flour, maybe a little more if it is too sticky. Let rise to top of bowl in warm place. Put in ice box until cold or for several days until ready to work out for rolls. Bake 15 minutes in hot oven.
