1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
3 eggs
1 c. molasses
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda, mixed in 1 c. boiling water

Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs, molasses, flour, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and soda mixture. Batter will be thin. Pour in a greased and floured oblong pan.

Bake 45 minutes in 300°F oven.
