SQUASH AND APPLE BAKE | |
2 lb. butternut or buttercup squash 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. butter, melted 1 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. mace 2 baking apples, cored & cut into 1/2" slices Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cut squash in half. Remove seeds and fibers; pare squash. Cut into 1/2" slices. Stir together remaining ingredients, except apples. Arrange squash in ungreased dish 11 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 1 1/2"; top with apple slices. Sprinkle sugar mixture over top. Cover with foil. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until squash is tender. 6 servings. |
