BAKED SQUASH AND APPLES 
2 lb. butternut squash
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. melted butter
1 tbsp. flour
1/4-1/2 tsp. mace
1 tsp. salt
2-3 baking apples, cored & cut into 1/2" slices

Slice elongated portion of squash into 1/2 inch round slices and pare. Cut remainder of squash in half. Remove seeds and fibers. Pare and cut into 1/2 inch slices.

Mix brown sugar, butter, flour, salt and mace. Arrange squash in oblong baking dish 12 x 7 1/2 x 2 inches. Top with apples. Sprinkle sugar mixture over top. Cover and bake in a 350 degree oven until squash is tender, approximately 50-60 minutes. Serves 6.
