JOANIE'S HAMBURGER CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. lean hamburger meat 1 sm. onion or 6 to 8 green onions, chopped 1/2 sm. green pepper, chopped 1 sm. can tomato sauce 1 chicken bouillon cube 1/2 to 3/4 c. hot water 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder 1 sm. pkg. shell macaroni, cooked to pkg. directions 1 1/2 c. grated American cheese Pace med. picante sauce, to taste Salt, pepper, onion salt, and broiled steak seasoning In large skillet or Dutch oven lightly brown hamburger meat. Add onion and green pepper. Season with salt, pepper, onion salt and broiled steak seasoning. Cook 1 to 2 minutes. Add chili powder, bouillon cube dissolved in hot water. Cook 1 minute. Add tomato sauce, picante sauce and adjust seasonings. If too thick, slowly add more hot water. Add cooked macaroni (you may not want to use all of the macaroni). Stir in half of the grated cheese. Put in casserole dish lightly sprayed with Pam. Sprinkle remaining cheese over top and bake at 350 degrees until hot and cheese is melted. |
