STEWED CHICKEN, HAWAIIAN STYLE | |
1 whole chicken 1 bunch green onions 1 c. celery, finely chopped 1/3 c. teriyaki sauce 1/4 c. brown sugar 1 can pineapple chunks 1 tbsp. sesame seed oil 2 tbsp. oil Cut chicken in serving size pieces and stir fry in 2 tablespoons oil, so it won't stick to the pan. As soon as the chicken is brown, take it out and put in celery and green onions, saute until almost tender, then add brown sugar, pineapple juice and teriyaki sauce, stirring until well mixed together. Then add the sesame seed oil and put chicken back in pan and simmer for 15 minutes. Delicious served by itself, or over rice, or over mashed potatoes. Green pepper may be used for extra taste. |
