STRAWBERRY BANANA ICE CREAM | |
1 qt. heavy cream 4 eggs 1/4 tsp. salt 2 1/2 c. sugar (1 c. added to strawberries to make juice) 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 pkg. strawberry Kool-Aid 1 c. milk 1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk 1 qt. strawberries, mashed 2 c. banana chunks Heat 2 cups cream with milk in double boiler. Beat eggs slightly. Add sweetened condensed milk, sugar, salt. Blend in a little hot cream. Then slowly add to mixture in double boiler. Cook 5 minutes, stirring to 176 degrees or until mixture coats a spoon. Cool. Stir in vanilla and remaining cream. Add strawberries and bananas and Kool-Aid. Put mixture in refrigerator for 8 hours and then churn, then also freeze in the freeze until firm consistency. |
