APPLESAUCE BRAN BREAD 
3 c. flour
1/2 c. bran cereal
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. dry active yeast

Mix dry ingredients using only 1 1/2 cups flour; set aside. 1/4 c. whole or skim milk 3 tbsp. butter 1 egg (room temp.)

Combine above ingredients except egg in saucepan. Heat to 120-130 degrees, butter does not need to melt. Add gradually to the cereal mixture; beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Add egg. Add 3/4 cup flour; beat at high speed for 2 minutes. Add enough additional flour to make stiff dough.
