OATMEAL BISCUITS | |
1 1/2 c. flour 1 tbsp. sugar 4 tsp. baking powder 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. uncooked rolled oats 4 tbsp. shortening 3/4 c. milk Sift first 4 ingredients together, add oats and mix; cut in shortening with fingers. Add milk slowly and mix to a soft dough. Roll out on floured board to 3/4 inch thickness. Cut with glass (floured) or biscuit cutter. Brush tops with milk and bake in quick oven (450 degrees) 15 to 20 minutes. Yields 15 biscuits depending on size. |
