FRESH PEACH CAKE 
2 3/4 c. sugar
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. mashed, ripe peaches
1 stick butter
3/4 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nut meats
1 c. shredded coconut

Sift 2 cups sugar, flour and baking soda together. Beat eggs. Add with peaches to dry ingredients. Pour batter into greased and floured cake pan, 13 x 9 x 2 inches. Bake 30 minutes in 350 degree oven or until pick comes out clean.

Combine remaining sugar with the rest of ingredients in heavy saucepan and cook over medium heat, stir frequently until thickened. 6-8 minutes. Spread over warm cake.
