WHITE CHOCOLATE CAKE 
4 oz. white chocolate
1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 egg yolks, unbeaten
2 1/2 c. plain, sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
4 egg whites, stiffly beaten

Melt chocolate in boiling water. Cool. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolks, one at a time, and beat well. Add chocolate and vanilla; mix well. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk to chocolate mixture and beat well. Fold in egg whites and bake in 3 (9 inch) layers at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Top with:

ICING:

4 oz. white chocolate
Dash of salt
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. powdered sugar
2 or 3 tbsp. hot water
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Melt chocolate in water and blend in sugar, salt, and hot water. Add egg yolk. Beat well. Add butter; beat well. Add vanilla. Spread on cake between layers and outside.
