LAYERED POTATO 'N HAM BAKE | |
1 packaged hash brown potatoes 4 c. very hot water 1 tsp. salt 1 can whole kernel corn, drained 1/3 c. chopped green peppers 1/3 c. chopped onion 1 c. cut up fully cooked, smoked ham 1 1/2 c. shredded process American cheese 1 c. milk 1/4 c. butter, melted 1 egg 1/3 c. Bisquick baking mix 1 tbsp. sugar 1/4 tsp. curry powder Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cover potatoes with water in 2 1/2 quart bowl. Stir in salt, let stand uncovered 15 minutes. Drain thoroughly. Layer half each of the potatoes, corn, green peppers, onion, ham, and cheese in ungreased square pan, 9"x9"x2"; repeat. Mix milk, butter and egg. Beat in baking mix, sugar, pepper and curry powder until smooth; pour over top. Bake until top is golden brown and center is set, about 50 to 60 minutes. Serves 6. |
