APRICOT JAM SQUARES 
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. shortening, 1/2 butter & 1/2 butter
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. quick rolled oats
May add 1/2 c. chopped nuts for topping

Mix until crumbly and save 1/3 of crumb mixture. Pat rest of crumb mix into pan and up the sides of pan about 1 inch. Cover with apricot jam, then cover with the saved crumb mixture. Bake until slightly browned. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Use a 9 x 13 inch pan.
