STUFFED CABBAGE | |
1 head cabbage (2 1/2 lbs.) 2 c. ground cooked ham 1 c. bread crumbs 3/4 c. grated American cheese 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 tsp. paprika Salt, if needed Dash cayenne Trim off loose outer leaves and cut a large cavity at stem end of cabbage. Combine remaining ingredients and stuff center of cabbage. Place a large outside leaf over top. Place in deep baking dish with 1/2 cup water; cover and bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until cabbage is tender. Serve with Quick Tomato Cheese Sauce. Serves 6. QUICK TOMATO SAUCE: Heat 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed tomato soup with 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper or paprika on thermostatic top burner set at 200 degrees. Beat in 1 cup grated American cheese until melted. |
