GERMAN KALE DINNER | |
3-4 fresh pork hocks 2 lb. kale greens, fresh, frozen, canned 1 med. diced onion 1/2 c. uncooked barley Salt & Pepper to taste Simmer pork, onion, salt and pepper until meat falls off bone. Add kale. Simmer 1/2 hour. Add barley. Simmer until done, 1/2 hour. Traditionally served with fried whole potatoes. Use small unpeeled potatoes. Boil until done; skin. Fry in butter until browned. |
