TURTLE CAKE SQUARES | |
1 (14 oz.) bag caramels 2/3 c. evaporated milk, divided 1 (18 1/2 oz.) box German chocolate cake mix 3/4 c. butter, melted 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 c. chopped nuts In double boiler, combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk, stirring until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and set aside. Combine cake mix, butter, and remaining 1/3 cup milk in bowl. Mix until well blended. Press half of the mixture in a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Remove from oven; sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over crust. Pour caramel mixture evenly over chips and nuts. Drop remainder of cake mixture over caramel. Return to oven and bake 15 to 18 minutes. Remove from oven; chill 30 minutes. Cut into small bars. |
