OLD FASHIONED DUMPLINGS | |
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 cup chicken broth 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 2 quarts broth Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add 1/2 cup chicken broth and oil, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out on a floured surface and form into a ball. Roll dough 1/16 inch thickness, cut into 5x1 inch strips. Drop into boiling broth. Cover and cook 15 minutes until dumplings are tender. May add 1 or 2 tbsp. butter and stir to thicken. Add cooked chicken. |
