FRUITCAKE 
1 1/2 c. raisins
1 1/2 c. chopped dates
2 c. sugar
5 tbsp. butter
2 c. boiling water

Place this in saucepan and simmer 20 minutes. Cool.

3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
Dash salt

Stir into above mixture. Add 1 cup chopped walnuts and 1 cup candied fruit. Bake in 2 greased and floured loaf pans in a preheated 325 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours.
