2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. flour
2/3 c. Carnation evaporated milk
2/3 tsp. lemon/vanilla/almond, etc.
Pinch salt

Cream butter and sugar in large bowl. Add next three ingredients a little at a time. Beat cake mixture until grainy sugar taste is gone. Pour into tube pan and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Ice as desired when warm.
