SPAGHETTI SAUCE | |
1/2 c. chopped onions 1/2 c. chopped celery 1 tsp. minced garlic 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 7 c. tomatoes (cored, peeled and chopped) 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1 tsp. oregano 1 tsp. basil 1 tbsp. salt 1 tbsp. sugar 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 bay leaf Saute onions, celery, and garlic in pot with oil. Cook 5 to 7 minutes. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Simmer 25 to 30 minutes. Cook until tomatoes are all cooked down, then add paste. Discard bay leaf. Makes about 2 1/2 pints. |
