COCONUT NUGGETS 
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
1 c. flaked coconut
3/4 c. raisins, rinsed and drained
1/4 c. candied cherries, coarsely chopped

Sift together flour and salt. In large bowl cream butter and shortening; add sugar gradually and crream until light and fluffy. Add egg and lemon rind. Mix in flour and salt to form a stiff dough. Stir in coconut, raisins and cherries. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 17 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.
