1 med. cabbage 4 carrots 1 sweet pepper 2 onions Few strips bacon Salt to taste Pepper (black) Sugar to taste Shred or chop cabbage, carrots, sweet pepper and onions. (Vegetables must be chopped fine.) Fry bacon strips until crisp. Pour off bacon oil into Dutch oven or other cover pot; put on low flame, add all chopped vegetables and pour into pot, add salt, pepper and sugar to taste. Stir together. Cover pot with top, cook slowly until vegetables are tender. Place bacon strips on vegetables. |
