BREAD & BUTTER PICKLES 
30 med. sized cucumbers
3 lg. onions
5 c. sugar
1 qt. cider vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
3 peppers
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed

Put whole cucumbers in salt water brine for 24 hours. To make salt brine, add 1 pint coarse salt to 9 pints water.

Cut pickles, onions and peppers into thin slices. Combine sugar, vinegar, turmeric, mustard seed and celery seed. Add pickles, onions and peppers to mixture and bring to boil. Boil 10 minutes, then pack in jars and seal.
