2 c. flour 1/4 c. cocoa 1 stick butter 1 c. water 1/2 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. oil 2 eggs 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. nuts, chopped Mix flour, sugar, cocoa and salt together and set aside. Bring to boil butter, water and oil. Pour over flour mixture and beat. Add eggs and mix well. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add to mixture and beat good. Pour into 10 x 15 inch pan (greased). Bake in 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes. FROSTING: Melt 1/2 stick butter, remove from stove and add 1/6 cup buttermilk. Pour over 1/2 pound box powdered sugar and 1/8 cup cocoa. Beat. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and some nuts. Note: May have to add more powdered sugar. |
