2 c. sugar 2 c. plain flour 1 tsp. baking soda 2 sticks butter 4 tbsp. cocoa 1 c. water 1/2 c. buttermilk 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring ICING: 1 stick butter 4 tbsp. cocoa 6 tbsp. buttermilk 1 box confectioners' sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. chopped nuts Sift together sugar, flour, and soda. Mix butter, cocoa, and water together and bring to a boil rapidly. Pour over dry ingredients and mix. Add buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla flavoring to that mixture. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes in a greased and floured pan. For icing; mix together butter, cocoa, and buttermilk, and boil rapidly. Add confectioners' sugar, vanilla, and nuts to liquid mixture. |
