SAUSAGE MUSHROOM CHEESE STRATA 
8 slices white bread (crust removed, cubed)
4 eggs
2 c. milk
1 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
1 pkg. link sausage, quartered and browned (8 oz.)
1/2 lb. mushrooms (sliced)
1/4 c. vermouth (optional)
Salt and pepper

Place cubed bread in greased 8 x 8 baking dish. Slice mushrooms and marinate in vermouth while preparing the rest. Brown the sausage and drain. Beat eggs and add milk, salt and pepper and pour over bread. Layer cheese, sausage and mushrooms. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. Bake at 400 degrees about 45 minutes or until eggs are set. Serves 8.
