GREEN BEAN BAKE | |
1 lb. green beans 4 med. white onions 2 med. green peppers Salt Paprika Butter Bread crumbs Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Wash and trim beans. Skin and coarsely chop onions. Wash and remove seeds and membrane from green peppers. Chop coarsely. Butter 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Place vegetables in alternating layers, beginning and ending with layer of beans. Sprinkle each layer with salt and paprika, and dot with butter. Bake vegetables covered for about 1 hour or until beans are tender. Before serving, garnish with mixture of dry bread crumbs and paprika (1/2 teaspoon to 1 cup crumbs), and dot with butter. Place dish under broiler to form a glazed golden crust. |
