GRANDMA WILL'S LASAGNA | |
1 lb. ground beef 1 lb. ground mild Italian sausage 1 clove garlic, minced 1 tsp. parsley, minced 1 tsp. basil 2 tsp. salt 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1 (10 oz.) pkg. lasagna noodles 1 (36 oz.) cottage cheese, cream style 3 eggs, beaten 3 tbsp. parsley flakes 3/4 c. parmesan cheese, grated 1 lb. mozzarella cheese, sliced Brown meat and drain fat. Add next six ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, until thickened, about 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Cook noodles until tender, drain and rinse in cold water. Meanwhile, combine cottage cheese with eggs, parsley flakes and parmesan cheese. Put very small amount of sauce in bottom of 9" x 13" pan. Place half the noodles in baking dish. Spread half the cottage cheese mixture over. Add half of mozzarella cheese and half of meat mixture. Repeat layers. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Serves 9 to 12. |
