WAIKIKI MEATBALLS | |
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 1/3 c. minced onions 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. milk 2/3 c. cracker crumbs 1 egg 1/4 tsp. ginger SAUCE: 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 can pineapple tidbits, drained (save syrup) 1/3 c. dark vinegar 1 tbsp. soy sauce 1/3 c. chopped green peppers (optional) Mix beef, crumbs, onion, egg, salt, ginger, and milk thoroughly and form into small meatballs. Brown. Drain. Combine cornstarch and brown sugar. Add pineapple juice, vinegar, and soy sauce. Stir until smooth. Pour over meatballs and stir until thick. Add pineapple and green peppers. Heat thoroughly and serve over rice. |
