1 c. butter
2 c. flour
1 tbsp. cold water
1/2 c. 10X sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 pinch salt

Cream butter and sugar until very soft. Add vanilla, water, flour and salt. Chill. Roll into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and press thumb into dough, making thumb print.

Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 17 minutes. Fill print with jelly.

Note: If you do not have time to chill, use 2 1/2 cups flour and, roll, print and bake immediately.
