CHOCOLATE CINNAMON BROWNIES 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour and sugar together. Put butter, cocoa and 1 cup water into saucepan. Bring to rapid boil. Pour over flour and sugar mixture. Add buttermilk, soda, eggs, cinnamon and vanilla. Mix and pour into greased sheet pan. (Pan should be large, such as a broiler pan.) Batter should be about 1/2-inch thick in pan.

Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes.

Topping:

1 stick butter
6 tbsp. milk
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 box confectioners sugar
chopped nuts (if desired)

Put butter, cocoa and milk into saucepan and bring to rapid boil. Mix well with confectioners sugar. Add nuts, if desired, and pour over hot cake. Spread. When cool, cut into squares.
